Benefits of Waxing Year-Round

November 7, 2018

Although the bikini days are behind us, you shouldn’t be tempted to set aside your waxing schedule and just do touch-us at home with the razor. In fact, letting things slide can actually cause more harm when spring comes around again. Although waxing has many benefits over shaving, the benefits truly shine on a regular schedule.

Exfoliate your skin. As wax is removed, it exfoliates the skin, removing dirt and dead skin cells that can clog your pores and make your skin appear dull and unhealthy. When you wax regularly, your pores remain unclogged and the constant exfoliation stimulates cell growth and collagen production rewarding you with younger, healthier looking skin. If you abruptly stop shaving for the winter it disrupts this healthy cycle.

Inhibit hair growth. With regular waxing, your hair in these treated areas grow back thinner then with shaving. We are all familiar with frustrating stubble after shaving, sometimes as soon as the very next day. That’s because shaving only cuts hair to the surface so it is able to grow back faster. Shaving also cuts hair at an angle which makes stubble appear darker and thicker as it regrows. Waxing, on the other hand, removes hair at the root so before the hair can regrow, the follicle must regrow first which makes regrowth slower. In fact, with consistent waxing, hair may eventually stop growing in the areas that are waxed regularly.

Say goodbye to nicks, cuts, and ingrown hairs. When you keep waxing even in the colder months, you can ensure you don’t get those nicks and cuts from shaving. With shaving, you are also more prone to ingrown hairs, which are painful. Waxing eliminates these problems and keeps your legs smooth and beautiful all year around.

Increase your self-confidence. We’ve all had this happen – a last minute holiday party or night on the town where you need to wear formal attire. With regular waxing, you can have the confidence of knowing that you’re waxed and ready for any occasion.

As you can see, if you take a break in your regular waxing routine, it can undo months of benefits. Keeping up with waxing helps your skin look younger and keeps you feeling confident. In fact, did you know that the colder months are the best time to start waxing? By summer your legs (and anywhere else you wax) will look their best for swimsuit season!
